The number of people who benefited from those times gets lower and lower every day. Most of us are 'washed up' and are rarely seen doing the content that 90% of the server is partaking in at the moment. Should this really matter to new players? Depends on that person. Members of Topshelf who were in Alpha will recall this. I personally remember an Aspid that spawned maybe 15 times in one day. That line is grayed here as the truth is a lot of high tier items that some older players (including myself on some fronts) have been obtained in stupidly easy/broken manners. It shouldn't be a pissing contest, although historically, it always has been in the endgame scene. You’re not fighting them, you’re fighting enemies. I don’t understand how it even affects you if someone else has something. Who cares if someone had it easier? are you so fragile that your self worth comes from comparing your possessions to someone else in ffxi? isn’t the point to have fun playing the game with friends and earning the rewards for yourselves? Bad apples exist everywhere, but it can be handled in different ways and how you go about it from the start both with development as well as policing has lasting effects. And I haven't even been here for more than a few months. One person just can't do it all alone and the longer I played here the more I realized it. One of the reasons I switched to another server. Which makes me smile, but also makes me sad. I guess maybe Nasomi is more like retail in the late 2000s than I thought. ![]() ![]() I have been enjoying myself greatly on this server as can be seen by my playtime, but it is unfortunate that some people have a leg up and have benefited from playing in a different age of the game that newer players, no matter how much equal time and effort they put in, will not be able to compare with.
